(Quando me foi pedida a realização de um trofeu para o aniversário MAC, estruturei um pensamento. Gizei a escultura, destacando planos. A parte superior apresenta um rasgo característico, desde início, na minha obra. Coloquei aí em relevo o logotipo. O volume central constituído por discos vários, maiores ou menores, mais ou menos juntos, com seus recortes e cores bem definidos foi sempre tratado de forma especial, ligada ao aniversário, aos anos que o MAC ia atingindo. A cor renovada na comemoração, para que cada ano fosse uma nova primavera, diferente da anterior, rejuvenescida , não modificando o espírito, seguindo apenas as evoluções temporais acima descritas, que considerei sempre importantes.)

(When I was asked to create a trophy for the anniversary of the Contemporary Art Movement (MAC), I carefully structured my thinking. In the delineation of the sculpture, I put special emphasis on planes. The upper part presents a rent, a characteristic of my work from the beginning. This is where I placed a relief of the logotype. The main volume of the work - composed of several discs of varying sizes, some together, other apart, with well defined outlines and colours - was always given special treatment relating to the anniversary that MAC was about to celebrate. The colour was renewed for each anniversary, each year seen as a new spring, different from the one before, rejuvenated, not changing the spirit, but following the fleeting evolutions described above, which I found very important.)
